When I first bought this pale-pink midi skirt from Topshop, my husband laughed and said, ‘When are you ever going to wear that?’ To be honest, I wasn’t sure because I hadn’t tried it on in the shop. I knew there was the risk that I’d look like a giant cupcake… not a cute look.
But when I got it home, I spent almost an hour trying it on with nearly every piece of clothing in my wardrobe. Turns out, it goes with pretty much everything and there are so many ways to wear it.
Here are three of my favourites…
For this refined look, I paired the skirt with a burgundy jumper from H&M, pointy-toed heels from Payless, a tortoise-shell Michael Kors watch and the J.Crew necklace I wore for my wedding. I’d wear this outfit to an interview, to dinner or anywhere I want to look ladylike.
I wore this outfit to a Saturday night dinner with my husband and both of our parents at Duck and Waffle. I paired the skirt with a rose-printed crop top from Asos, my glasses loafers from Nordstrom, a leather moto jacket from Zara and my caty-eye Dior sunnies.
This pared-down outfit is perfect for a casual spring day strolling through London, window shopping and pub-hopping. I went for an all-pastel look, wearing a pink cropped tee from Asos, a lilac cross-body bag from Urban Outfitters, simple white trainers from Payless and floral sunnies (can’t remember where from… maybe an NYC street vendor?).
