I admitted last week that I’m having all the feelings about my plaid shirt from Madewell. (Seriously, I can’t stop wearing it. It’s getting weird.) But it turns out my obsession extends to pretty much all things plaid. Or tartan, depending on what country you’re in. I’ve discovered that it’s an especially fun print to pair with leather and sequins. The result is an unexpected mix of classic and cool – and it’s a trio that’s definitely made for a day-to-night transition.
If you follow my posts (or my credit card bills) you know that River Island isn’t always in heavy rotation. But for the prices, RI is definitely worth perusing at least once a season. What started out as a quick click-about as I scarfed down a skinny ham & edam from Crussh (more on that later) at my desk today quickly turned into much a more involved investigation.
Anyone who’s seen my closet (or my music collection) knows that I’m not afraid of being super girly – and just like my BFF Taylor Swift, I love a feminine dress with a ladylike court. But for days when I want to tone down the sweetness, or nights when I want my feet to not hate me, I think a flirty dress, a practical trainer and a classic leather jacket are the ultimate trio.
It’s just now starting to get chilly in London and, as always, the change in weather has me wishing for a whole new wardrobe. And while I may not actually be able to buy a whole new wardrobe, I can certainly look.
You know how sometimes you buy a new piece and you just love it so much that you actually have to stop yourself from wearing it three days in a row? That’s exactly what I’m going through with this Flannel Ex-Boyfriend Shirt in Albion Plaid from Madewell. Seriously, it’s so comfy that I’m tempted to sleep in it at night – and it goes with pretty much everything in my wardrobe.
I’ve been absolutely loving the weather in London for the past few weeks. Autumn is always my favourite time for clothes because you can experiment with layering and throw on adorable jackets and scarves. But you don’t have to be so bundled up that your entire outfit is hidden under a long wool coat. Plus, it’s actually been sunny – which means I can show off my Mirrored Orange Flash Ray-Bans.
Well, it happened. I turned 30. Of course I did the typical “where is my life going, what am I doing, is it finally time to get Botox?” freakout. But then I just pulled my shit together and decided to focus on what’s really important: the gifts I received. (You know, besides my friends, family, husband, health, etc…)
