It’s no secret that I’m a pretty huge fan of ASOS. I’ve spent many an evening sipping red wine, binge watching First Dates and scrolling through 100 pages of dresses, jumpsuits and swimwear. I’ll click the ones I like until I have 45 tabs open and I eventually have to restart Firefox. Then I’ll go through my edit, choose the best of the bunch and add them to my cart.
If you’ve been in a relationship for between two weeks and one year, Valentine’s Day is a special time to get all dolled up, shave your legs, spring for a blowout and a mani-pedi and enjoy an over-the-top romantic date night with your man. However, if you’re single or have been in a relationship for longer than a year, it’s pretty much just a normal day that happens to fall at a time when there’s loads of hearts and pink stuff in the store windows.
In case you haven’t heard, today is Blue Monday – the so-called most depressing day of the year. Apparently the day is based on an actual scientific equation involving the weather, personal debt levels and the disappointment of failed New Year’s resolutions.
So in my ongoing attempt to read the entire internet/never go more than 45 seconds without checking Facebook, I’ve come across several articles about these reversible sequin ‘mermaid pillows’.
WTF! Pillows You Can Draw On! … OMG! These Pillows Are Made From Unicorn Tears! … Holy Balls! Sequins Are a Thing!
I must be getting better at hiding my deviant behaviour because somehow I seemed to fool Santa into thinking I deserved a place on the Nice List this year. After some super subtle hinting, I ended up with a pretty fantastic collection of Christmas gifts. And yes, I am including a couple things I bought for myself in the Boxing Day sales, as you do.
So over the last couple weeks I’ve spent A LOT of time scouring my favourite shopping sites for gift ideas. I’ve spent countless hours during and after work analysing everything on offer on the entire World Wide Web. (Unless I happen to work with or for you… in which case, I meant after work only.)
This past weekend featured three of my favourite things: sunshine, wine and quality hang-time with my girlfriends. There was also Mexican food, whisky and a punting guide who looks like Aladdin – but that’s for another post.
