Matching Stan Smiths + laid-back fall fashion + Zara obsession
Location: Chelsea, NYC
A couple weeks ago, I posted about how my adorable 1-year-old nieces are nailing the art of best friend dressing. Of course, when you’re under the age of 10 you can pretty much get away with wearing anything and coordinating with your twin sis is sort of expected. But those two mini fashionistas reminded me of this adult duo that I stopped in NYC awhile back.
Here in London it’s not quite cold enough yet to be wearing chunky outerwear. Now normally I would not be complaining about that (trust me, one thing I don’t miss about NYC is the insane winters) – but I’m having a really difficult time waiting.
Every year when October rolls around I go into coat-scouting overdrive. My desire for chic outerwear is even more intense living in London because the winters are more mild. You can get away with wearing a wool coat – perhaps even partially unbuttoned. Whereas in New York City’s you’re pretty much required to zip yourself into a full-length sleeping bag from November to March.
If you follow my posts (or my credit card bills) you know that River Island isn’t always in heavy rotation. But for the prices, RI is definitely worth perusing at least once a season. What started out as a quick click-about as I scarfed down a skinny ham & edam from Crussh (more on that later) at my desk today quickly turned into much a more involved investigation.
