Denim + leopard + leather + sunshine
So over the last couple weeks I’ve spent A LOT of time scouring my favourite shopping sites for gift ideas. I’ve spent countless hours during and after work analysing everything on offer on the entire World Wide Web. (Unless I happen to work with or for you… in which case, I meant after work only.)
Five things I enjoy:
- Giving new life to old items of clothing
- Finding hidden treasures
- ‘Borrowing’ (in the permanent sense) clothes from my dad. Mostly because he has some cool vintage stuff from the ’70s. But partly because it really annoys him. Especially when I sneak into his room to steal his white athletic socks. This was a daily activity when I was in high school – but now I challenge myself to nab a pair or two whenever I visit.
- Plaid again.
We hosted a little Friendsgiving at our flat last night, so most of today was spent nursing hangovers and cleaning the kitchen. (So much leftover pumpkin pie!) But, luckily, I did get outside in time to enjoy a couple short hours in the sunshine.
For this chill Sunday, I decided I needed a laid-back, simple look to take me from coffee to shopping to PBRs and more. I bought these relaxed boyfriend jeans from H&M years ago and I just recently decided to distress them DIY style. I let loose with a pair of scissors and a razor (and I think maybe a cheese grater… the details are a bit fuzzy) – and this is what I came up with.
I’m a huge fan of Christmas jumpers – and not just in a “wear for your Tacky Sweater Party” sort of way. I like them in a “wear all throughout December” sort of way. Definitely whilst opening Christmas presents and drinking Bloody Marys. Probably to the pub on Sunday. And maybe even to work over a denim shirt and a leather skirt. I’m even on a mission to make Christmas jumpers mandatory for our office Christmas lunch in a few weeks – but I haven’t quite convinced the masses yet.
I’ve certainly been having a thing with midi skirts lately. This Topshop gem is still in heavy rotation – and I’ve just spotted a few more that I’m debating ordering from ASOS. But I personally think midi skirts just don’t look as cute with tights as they do with bare legs – and as we head into winter we’re nearly in mandatory tights weather. (That is unless you’re going straight from your flat to an Uber to a restaurant… or if you drink minimum three glasses of wine before braving the elements.)
