Sure, I like variety as much as the next guy. But every now and then I find a combination that just works for a specific situation… and then I repeat it over and over again. For example, for a lazy Friday night it’s Thai takeaway + Malbec + Bachelor. For Sunday mornings it’s a gigantic Americano + Eggs Royale + digging myself out of a shame spiral. (Just kidding… sometimes.)
After nearly three weeks of no drinking (I know. Dry January is a real bitch. The 10 Pound Race is her evil sister.), we threw all rules out the window for a cheeky* weekend away in Bath. It was my first trip to the town and it was absolutely beautiful.
When MR and I go on weekend city-breaks, we typically fall into a familiar pattern. Sure, there are occasional variations – but for the most part, the days involve a combination of the following: drinking coffee, eating eggs, walking aimlessly, taking pictures, drinking wine, shopping, drinking beer, going on a boat tour, drinking wine and making High Fidelity-style lists. (Top 5 slices of pizza ever, go!)
Okay, so let’s back up here a bit. I’m going to come right out and say Hotel Alexandra is the only place I’ve stayed in Copenhagen. It’s also the only hotel I’ve even stepped foot inside. But, I still feel reasonably confident saying it might be the most stylish. Or one of the most stylish. Top 10? Top 25, for sure. Okay, regardless – it is very cool. I’ll elaborate…
