Maybe it’s because it’s been bitterly cold* in London lately, but I’ve found myself wanting to load up on jumpers. I finally took the plunge and bought this cashmere crewneck from Uniqlo in black today when I spotted it on sale for £49. It’s such a classic piece, I can image myself wearing it for many seasons to come. But it’s not just basic black staples that are catching my eye. I’m also coveting all of the colour-block jumpers.
Leading up to our weekend city-break to Copenhagen, I did a tiny bit of shopping… and then a tiny bit more once we arrived. So, of course, I was excited to take my new pieces out for a test drive. Luckily, it was ridiculously sunny and gorgeous the entire weekend, and the scenery was made for street style snapping.
I admitted last week that I’m having all the feelings about my plaid shirt from Madewell. (Seriously, I can’t stop wearing it. It’s getting weird.) But it turns out my obsession extends to pretty much all things plaid. Or tartan, depending on what country you’re in. I’ve discovered that it’s an especially fun print to pair with leather and sequins. The result is an unexpected mix of classic and cool – and it’s a trio that’s definitely made for a day-to-night transition.
It’s just now starting to get chilly in London and, as always, the change in weather has me wishing for a whole new wardrobe. And while I may not actually be able to buy a whole new wardrobe, I can certainly look.
