I’m a huge fan of Christmas jumpers – and not just in a “wear for your Tacky Sweater Party” sort of way. I like them in a “wear all throughout December” sort of way. Definitely whilst opening Christmas presents and drinking Bloody Marys. Probably to the pub on Sunday. And maybe even to work over a denim shirt and a leather skirt. I’m even on a mission to make Christmas jumpers mandatory for our office Christmas lunch in a few weeks – but I haven’t quite convinced the masses yet.
Of course, another reason to wear a Christmas jumper is if you’re into charity and doing nice things and stuff (something I’ve heard is increasingly popular around this time of year). Friday December 12 is Christmas Jumper Day, sponsored by Save The Children. So you can wear your jumper, donate and then feel awesome about yourself because you’re charitable and because you look like a total badass.
Merry Xmas Ya Filthy Animal Jumper, Boohoo, £18
Despite the fact that Macaulay Culkin has gotten super weird lately (except for the whole wearing a T-shirt with a picture of Ryan Gosling wearing a T-shirt with a picture of Macaulay Culkin thing – that was amazing), Home Alone remains a classic Christmas movie. This sweater wins. (Also, it’s sold out in women’s, but just get the men’s version and get over yourself.)
December 25th Sweater, Topshop, £42
Direct and unambiguous. This Christmas jumper does not f**k around.
Christmas Jumper with Trainee Elf Slogan, Asos, £35
So cute with the leather skirt. This lady has the right idea…
Asos Christmas Cardigan, Asos, £35
I kind of just want to hang this old-man cardigan on the back of my chair at work and put it on whenever the ridiculous AC gets to be too much.
Polar Fun Wool-Blend Jumper, French Connection, £79
This one’s a little more expensive than the others – but it’s from FCUK, so at least you know it will be really nice material.
Grey Christmas Stag Jumper, River Island, £35
Another one from the men’s department – but just might be my favourite of the bunch.
Jacquard-knit Jumper, H&M, £24.99
Cute and girly.
Fun Ski Jumper, Next, £32
Just tacky enough to be fun. I can so see my mom wearing this back when she used to be a kindergarten teacher.
Asos Christmas Jumper in Festive Pattern, Asos, £32
Love this print. I could definitely see myself wearing this in a cosy pub, drinking a big-girl glass of red wine.
Brave Soul Polar Bear Jumper, Asos, £18
This guy clearly needs a friend.
Would you guys wear any of these jumpers – or am I just a bit weird about Christmas? Let me know in the comments!
