My dream Christmas wish list

So over the last couple weeks I’ve spent A LOT of time scouring my favourite shopping sites for gift ideas. I’ve spent countless hours during and after work analysing everything on offer on the entire World Wide Web. (Unless I happen to work with or for you… in which case, I meant after work only.)

Of course I was telling myself that I was looking for gifts for other people. But because I have some very stylish ladies on my giftee list – including two sisters, a sister-in-law and a few lucky friends – I was also gathering ideas for myself. Seriously, when you’re browsing Asos, Zara and Net-a-Porter all day it’s pretty much impossible not to!

So I’ve compiled my ultimate Christmas wish list – narrowed down to 12 from about 14,000. Now let me first say (for any loved ones who may be reading) that I in no way expect to receive this stuff. (Yes, I’m aware that most of it is well out of any reasonable human’s price range.)

But, Santa, if you’re reading… I’ve been a very good girl this year…

Larsson & Jennings CM Gold-Plated Watch, Net-a-Porter, £225

I’ve been admiring this chic watch for awhile now. I think I’ve just about moved on from my Michael Kors watch obsession and I’m ready for something a bit more sophisticated. This would look fab poking out of a cosy jumper sleeve.

Co-ord Embellished Strip Clutch Bag, ASOS, £24.50

I know it’s not exactly original, but I’ve got a bit of thing for sequins – especially during the festive season. This colourful sequin clutch would add the perfect spot of colour to a black jumpsuit for a Christmas party. Plus, you can’t beat the price.

Stan Smith Shoes, Adidas, £62

I’ve been giving my white Nike trainers a major workout this season, so it’s probably time they made a friend in my wardrobe. These Stan Smith Originals are the shoe choice of pretty much every cool London lady – so it’s about time I joined the club. I’ll just have to cross my fingers that they’re not on the downswing by the time I do. And the fact that you can customise them makes them even more awesome.

Round Sunglasses, Miu Miu, £205

I don’t know where it started but I’ve been lusting over pretty much every pair of Miu Miu sunglasses available.  Now, I don’t actually need another pair of sunglasses – especially when the sun sets at 3:45pm in London right. (Seriously.) But I’d happily unwrap these round beauties and start immediately fantasising about my next sunny holiday.

ASOS WHITE Colour Block Faux Fur Coat, ASOS, £195

When I showed this to my husband, his response was: “Wait, that one’s a joke, right?” But I love the ASOS WHITE label and this faux fur coat is just so lush. It easily makes the list.

Sapin Candle, Diptyque, £48

I’ve never been hugely into candles but lately they’ve been creeping up my list. I will happily light the 5 quid variety, but it would be fun to have a really posh one. This one, apparently, smells like Christmas – which would fit perfectly with the constant stream of “Jazzy Christmas Music” (thank you, Spotify) on play in our flat this month.

Elizabeth & James Calf Hair and Leather Tote, Net-a-Porter, £520

I’ve been looking for a really nice, quality tote that goes with everything and can fit all my essentials (umbrella, flat shoes, deodorant, snacks, bottle of wine) – and this guy would be a dream come true. Plus, I feel like my childhood obsession with Full House means that I was always destined to own something designed by the Olsen Twins.

UrbanCode Faux Fur PomPom, ASOS, £8

This is a bit of a random pick, but I can’t get enough of these faux fur pom poms. It’s so cute as a handbag ornament – to dress up a classic tote or add a bit of playfulness to an evening clutch bag. Or I could just snap it on to my keys to save me losing them inside my handbag every day. (Also, the fact that this is only 8 quid makes up for all this other ridiculously expensive stuff, right??)

Moschino Print Scarf with Ribbon and Pearl Print, ASOS, £75

I’ve been feeling inspired watching girls around the office wearing fashiony silk scarves and I’m determined to get my hands on one. True, it doesn’t necessarily have to be of the Moschino variety… but a girl can dream! This beauty would look great tied around my neck with a white tee and ripped jeans or draped around my shoulders over a thin polo neck.

Rouge Coco Ultra Hydrating Lip Colour, Chanel, £26

Lately I don’t feel “dressed” without dark lipstick – and I’ve never found a brand that beats Chanel. The ultra hydrating lip colour has a deep pigment and is matte enough to look set and un-shiny. But it goes on smooth and keeps your lips from getting dry. And you really can’t top the glam of that tube. (Santa, in case you’re curious – I’d take Etienne, Gabrielle and/or Coco.)

Embossed Velvet Skirt, Topshop, £68

Wise women often say: when you find a piece you love, buy it in every colour. Well, I am in love with this pink midi skirt I bought from Topshop nearly three years ago. I’ve worn it every which way possible. I love it with a crop top or casual tee tucked in. ANYWAY… this looks like the exact same cut but in a super-cute midnight-blue velvet. Throw on a sequin crop top and this basically has Christmas party written all over it.

oribe-perfumeCote d’ Azur Eau du Parfum, Oribe, $85

I recently had a friend come to stay with us and I couldn’t help noticing she smelled like a sexy angel. When I inquired as to which magic potion she had sprayed on her skin, she introduced me to this Oribe perfume – and even let me steal a spray. I already use some Oribe hair products, but I had no idea they also made the best-smelling perfume of all time. Who would have thought!
