Well… things have taken a turn for the worse.
After my confidence-boosting weigh-in on Wednesday morning, I proceeded to drink and eat my face off for the rest of the week. My client lunch on Wednesday featured that heady combination of food and booze that is both abundant and free. I noshed on absolutely delicious sushi from Chotto Matte and consumed more than a bottle’s worth (yes, just for me) of Sauvignon Blanc – and that pretty much set the tone for the rest of the week.
However, I’m going to chalk it up to the fact that this week was particularly dramatic and stressful at work – thus necessitating three nights in a row of post-work gossiping with office allies. Not every week is like that and next week I’ll just have to be stronger. Right, off to spinning class…

Oh dear. (please prepare for some pretty artful manouvering and dodgy excuses)
Day 8 has come around so quickly. I thought that this would be easy but these days I don’t have a ton of spare time. In order to keep this post light-hearted and upbeat I will instead list the things I have completed this week:
- I finally joined the gym
- I made a conscious effort to get my work buddies out in the cold and rain for a run. They are thinking about it.
Not a great start… I’m still “technically” lighter than I was at the beginning of this but only by 114 grams. I am switching to another metric because (a) it sounds more and (b) I need the additional resolution.
What is going to actually get me down the gym is probably the thought that someone might be reading this and I don’t want to disappoint my adoring public. Also it won’t make for a good read if nothing changes week on week.
